    About Coach Stephanie Stephanie Atwood is Founder and Head Coach of the women’s running/walking group called Go WOW Team – Fit Women of the World and the online coaching and educational program Ask Coach Stephanie. The two programs together serve women throughout the US. It is Stephanie's intention to bring fitness opportunities to women throughout the world as her dream becomes a reality.

    Stephanie has worked, volunteered, and competed in fitness-related programs including marathon training, boot camps, x-country skiing, winter survival, rock climbing, mountaineering, white water rafting, and adventure hiking for more than 3 decades. She holds current certifications as a long distance running coach, personal trainer, sports injury and nutrition consultant, and is also ranked as a Masters Runner with USATF (United States Association of Track and Field).

    Coach Stephanie started her fitness business in 1997. Since 2007 women’s fitness is its major focus. The WOW Team and Ask Coach Stephanie have grown to include more than 2000 active women throughout the US. WOW neighborhood groups workout regularly in four Bay Area Counties and are growing in their reach every day.

    Ask Coach Stephanie (the program) educates and coaches women online. Women throughout the world participate in this online group that meets on a regular basis to discuss all of the components of making fitness a part of our lifestyle.

    Founder/Coach Stephanie’s expertise in coaching* and teaching comes from more than 30 years of experience and 10,000 hours of training and practice! In addition to her coaching and running, Atwood has a graduate degree in Communications and group facilitation.

    Movement and fitness is a gift. I encourage both. Women who join the WOW Team and Ask Coach Stephanie are welcomed at whatever level of ability they bring. We are the fitness club for all women! I want every woman in the world to explore her full potential and know that she will find support and companionship with us. When we’re moving, we’re getting fit.       I have signed up for the Burton Creek Trail Marathon in Tahoe City on June 17. I am from New Zealand but live in Mumbai, India. This will be my first full marathon. I'm looking at getting a coach to help me set up a suitable training and nutrition plan. My concern is how to train for a trail run in an urban setting? Would you be able to support me and if so, what would be the costs involved?

      • Hi Glenda, Fate must have brought us together! I lived in Tahoe City and surroundings for many years so know the area well. I have traveled in India and Nepal extensively so know some of the challenges you will deal with. The Couch to Accomplished, Best of the Best is meant for women like you.
