Go WOW Training allows you to pick the distance and the training pace. We encourage running, our specialty is run/walk training, and we LOVE our walkers!
3 Basic Runs Each Week is All it Takes!
Workout 1 for Novices Runners and Walkers includes some type of quick, short distance. For newbies this is usually 1 minute of walking hard or running fast, followed by 1 minute of recovery walking. As you improve you add more cycles into your training.
Workout 1 for Experienced Runners uses intervals to increase your speed and strength. You must have a good base to utilize speed intervals while avoiding injury, thus the difference between experienced and novice athletes.
Workout 2 is a mid-distance, mid-speed workout meaning that, whetehr you run, run/walk, or walk we want you going hard and steady!
Workout 3 is the fun weekend endurance workout that increases in distance each week or in intensity.
We ask our half marathoners to increase each weekend workout by 10 minutes. This is a manageable and safe way to increase without injury.
We ask our 5K Trainees to increase the cycles of hard/easy for the 60 minutes of their workout.
Other Workouts are available and encouraged, either with your team-mates or on your own. We call this cross training and it will make you stronger and less injury prone if you are doing other types of exercise during some of the week when you are not working out with us.
Go WOW Team has a weekly calendar full of workouts you can join. We encourage you to look at all the workouts each and every week to keep you fit and having fun. Join some of ours or do your activity on your own. It's all good
